For Meher, a young Pakistani woman, learning new things and being able to share her skills helps her to grow and feel part of her community, where previously she felt isolated. “I jumped at the opportunity of learning how to sew, and I noticed part way through the training I felt more energetic.”
Meher and her fellow graduates began to meet regularly and practice their skills, sharing their progress with one another. She said “together we learn how to work as a team. I feel confident now about what I have in my hands”.
