Asha Kiran Society
India’s education system primarily uses Hindi and English, sidelining the country’s 300+ other languages and marginalising minority language speakers. In rural areas like Koraput District, Odisha, children often drop out because they can’t understand the language of instruction. Through our partner’s work, children are taught by local people, learning to read and write confidently in their own local language before introducing languages taught at government schools.
