Our community challenge is back for its second year!
The 31 Challenge is all about uniting your community to raise money for dignity and opportunity around the world.
Why 31? The number 31 represents the number of communities we partner with around the world. Communities that have experienced isolation, shame, and a loss of self-worth, but are eager to change their lives.
That’s where you come in.
By taking part, you’re empowering communities overseas, and you’re building connection and purpose within your own community.
Because when people feel seen, valued and uplifted, lasting change becomes possible. Because we are stronger together.

Jacob’s Story
For a long time, Jacob felt completely alone.
After dropping out of school at 16, addiction took hold of his life. He lost his job, his family, and eventually even a place to call home. For nearly two years, Jacob lived under a bridge – isolated, ashamed, and angry, even questioning God and whether his life had any purpose at all.
He was lost, without community or hope.
Then one day, he met an old friend whose life looked completely different – restored and full of peace. When Jacob asked what had happened, two words stayed with him: the Lord and Change Makers.
Though he felt deep shame, Jacob gained the courage to ask his father for help, and found love instead of rejection. Together, they took the first step toward change.
At Change Makers, Jacob was welcomed, supported, and restored. Through faith and community, he rebuilt his life – learning carpentry, building a home with his own hands, and preparing a place for his daughter.
Today, she lives with him. He is a husband, a father, and a leader, helping others at Change Makers find hope just as he did.
Jacob’s story is a reminder that restoration doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens with the community, because we are stronger together.

Take on The 31 Challenge
During the month of May, take on a fundraising challenge inspired by the number 31.
You could:
- Wash 31 cars
- Host a bake sale with 31 sales
- Run, walk, or cycle every day in the 31 days of May
- Sell 31 items on Vinted or in a car boot sale
However you choose to take part, every effort helps make a difference.
