Growing Unity in Indian Villages
6th March 2025

In the remote village of Hanumal, India, a collective effort has brought the community closer together whilst securing a brighter future for their children. The villagers united around a project to plant pepper saplings as a means of generating income for their local education centre.
The journey wasn’t without challenges. First, they faced difficulty gathering enough volunteers for the labour work. Then, disagreements arose over which land should be used for planting. Through these setbacks, the community came together, talked through the issues and adjusted their plans.
Their perseverance paid off. They successfully planted the pepper saplings and installed fencing to safeguard the young plants.
With the income raised, 61 children in the Hanumal community can continue to learn in their village school.
“This initiative not only fosters unity but also establishes a foundation for long-term support for local schooling needs. “
